The Art Department at Long Beach City College is one of the largest art departments in the California Community College system, and as such, is dedicated to providing students with the finest, most comprehensive introduction to the arts possible. Toward that end, we have brought together a strong corps of professional artists and educators, dedicated to developing a comprehensive foundation for students to explore their innate creativity.

Take advantage of our weekend and night scheduling to broaden your horizons. Look for the classes you need in the college schedule and register online. Our computer art and photography labs continue to see major upgrades in imaging and software with state of the art Intel iMacs, Adobe CS3 Design Premium software, and high resolution large format Epson printers.

Art Student Art 2008 opens April 30

The 2008 'Art Student Art' exhibit will open on Wednesday, April 30 with reception that evening from 7 to 8:30PM. The annual event features the most outstanding student work as selected by our faculty. Take advantage of this opportunity to see art work from students from all disciplines within the department. Gallery hours will be Monday to Thursday, 9:30AM to 4:00PM and Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 6:00 to 7:00PM. The show will close on Friday May 16.
